The Ploum Sofa<\/strong> small low-back version<\/strong>, designed by Ronan Bouroullec<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and Erwan Bouroullec<\/span><\/span><\/strong> for Ligne Roset<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, is the result of an extensive research project focused on creating an entirely new level of comfort in contemporary seating.<\/p>\n

The concept of the Ploum sofa is based on an innovative combination of two materials: a highly stretchable upholstery fabric<\/strong> and ultra-soft multi-density foam<\/strong>. This unique pairing allows the sofa to adapt naturally to the body, creating an exceptionally comfortable and flexible seating experience. The generous proportions and organic form encourage a variety of relaxed seating positions, whether used alone or shared.<\/p>\n

Following the designers\u2019 vision, the sofa features a subtle asymmetrical construction<\/strong>: one side of the backrest is slightly higher than the other, while one side of the seat is slightly deeper. This asymmetry enhances the sense of freedom and movement while maintaining visual harmony.<\/p>\n

The slightly inward-angled seat encourages closer seating positions, fostering interaction and conversation between users. With its extremely soft contact and free-flowing shape, the Ploum sofa feels like a true nest of comfort<\/strong>, where the same enveloping softness can be experienced across the entire surface of the seat, including the armrests.<\/p>\n
