Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, Nile is a table lamp with a sculptural appearance, casting a soft, pleasant light both upwards and downwards. It embodies the balance between two opposites: the delicate, lightweight mouth-blown white glass diffuser and the solidity of the hand-finished matte marble base, crafted in polished Carrara marble for the white version and Marquina marble for the black. The base and diffuser, with adjustable tilt, maintain balance through an invisible interplay of weight, positioning, and articulation. Beautiful when turned off, Nile lights up wonderfully as the glow filters through the exquisite glass, directing light down onto the surface below and upwards through the diffuser’s two open sides.
